Once I went Malaysia with my mum, brother and sister. We were at this place where we had to stamp our passports. It was really crowded and there were no proper queues, so everyone was practically squeezing and forcing their way through. My mum, being the kiasu type, just forced her way to the front and left my brother,sister and me behind, feeling totally lost. Then I looked around and I saw this little girl trying to squeeze her way to the front. Her dad stopped her and said, “Don’t walk so fast, you will get lost. Just stay close to me and we’ll get out together.”
This was a really sweet scene and somehow I knew God wanted to teach me something from this. A few weeks ago, my dad lost a lawsuit. I knew many problems will start surfacing and life will be tough for a year. This scene seemed like a preparation for what is to come but I couldn’t figure what it meant.

Mum and dad were quarrelling over financial matters and I was very upset because I thought of what my family would have to go through this for a year. The next night during cell, I finally figured out that like the father in that scene, God was asking me to follow Him, trust Him and He will bring me out lo. I don’t have to be competitive in this competitive world, I don’t need to have many possessions, I don’t need to chase after worldly things. In the process I may get lost, and I may leave behind people very dear to me. Just hold God’s hand and we will get out together lo.
Now, I’ve gone through 4 months+ out of that one year and God has been very good. =]
"But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit."- Jeremiah 17:7-8
